To start off, I haven’t been ‘that’ into coding for awhile now, I’ve been focused on work and college. However, I realized that I could upload podcasts (mp3 or otherwise) to my Palm Centro from AT&T and furthermore listen to them in order from earlier to latest. Anyhow, I got to searching for “web dev podcasts” on google last night and came upon web20show.com.
Now the website’s podcasts seems to not have been updated for some time, around mid 2008, but I still wanted to hear the casts seeing as having an hour lunch at Wal-Mart can be quite boring and I wanted something intelligent to listen to rather than a few middle aged women gossip about their workday. Â So I proceeded to download and store the two latest, yet outdated, podcasts onto my memory card. Â In the podcasts they dicussed a Google API called Open Social, until this very time I had never seriously thought much about Google’s API’s, or even that they had any beyond Earth and their Gagets.
By the end of the day I was very entrigued about Microformats and Google’s Open Social, I was even researching everything on my Palm while I was listening to the podcast. Â Anyhow, I am now home and just finished browsing Google’s API site, which I was absolutely dumbfounded. Â I cannot believe all the API’s Google offers and how may apps I ‘could’ write to make life simpler, in some respects of course. Â I forsee in the near future actually utilizing the site for the API’s in my spare time, assuming I’ll have some. Â I just figured I’d throw this out here just in case. Â Also if you didn’t get the memo, head on over to the links below, especially if you’re just aching for a new gaget but can’t find it, why not make it yourself?
